I enjoyed the book,and would read more by this writer
This was a delightful story. I've never read any books by this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The writing was very good, the story plausible and sweet. I will read more by this author.
I liked this book. It wouldn't be my favorite, but it was sweet, short and had a very nice theme of some people valuing you for qualities that others find a detriment. I would read others by this author.
The story was good but I did not realize the book was so short. Only 91 pages. I would not have paid the price I did if I knew the book was so short.
Love this Story! A short and sweet tale of two people who have admired each other from afar, but are brought together by tragedy.
Katie Tucker is so shy and nervous she knows no man will ever find her interesting, but she’s wrong. Pete Dent has been interested since the day he first saw her, but he’s patiently bided his time. Now with her father’s death and the farm in trouble, she needs him. But will she ever love him?
This is a sweet story that read much too quickly, It seemed shorter than 100 pages. Sometimes the author seemed to try too hard but not hit the mark, like with the sentence, “The hair on her arms stretched for the heavens.” What? Really? I also found the ending weak and lacking. I gave it 3.5 stars, which rounded up to a four.
Quick, enjoyable read. I would have like a little more in a couple of areas, but overall it is a sweet story that pleasantly surprised me once. I liked the imperfect heroine and the amount of respect given to her younger brother once the father died. And even with the inclusion of a couple of tough topics, the story didn't get heavy. Overall, this is a sweet book suitable for those busy days when you want to ignore the world and read but can't--too much. ;)
